Plagiarism is a Crime! (thoughts about plagiarism)
-When I hear the word “Plagiarism”, the first thing that comes to mind is copying someone’s work without permission. According to the thesaurus it is infringement of copyright, piracy, theft, stealing. From the definitions, we already know that plagiarism is a bad thing and is illegal. My opinion about plagiarism is that only lazy people do this. When you copy and paste without giving credit to the author, that plagiarism and they can file a case against you.
Before, when the internet wasn’t that available and computers wasn’t widely used , students do manual research in libraries and do interviews, nowadays, with the availability of the internet (google, Wikipedia, etc) students do research and work with ease, and instead of making their projects/reports their own, they use COPY & PASTE. I myself is guilty with plagiarism because I used copy & paste specially in assignments that are due in a short time, but sometime its just a matter of ethics whether you’ll give in to plagiarism or not.
My thoughts about plagiarism is, if you’ll do this, its just your conscience that will haunt you because you yourself know what is right from what is wrong. So always think first.Remember, Plagiarism is a Crime.
What a weekend! Relaxation and fun! (The effects of long weekend)
-We crave for Saturdays and Sundays, and they gave us this. wooohooo! Time for a long weekend. Of course every student wants to have a break once in a while, and this long weekend is a blessing for average students but not for students like me who has extra-curricular commitments. What I did with my long weekend is practice, practice and practice. Practice to get pumped and amped for the upcoming competitions. I really didn’t spend my long weekend for relaxation, but I had fun practicing with LSDT.
To an average student, Long weekends have its good and bad effects. Some good effects are they give time-outs for students who are bombarded with projects and such, they give time for students to bond with their families, and time for students to refresh their minds and just have fun. Some bad effects are students sometimes forget what they had been discussing in school like lessons, they get caught up with having a long weekend that they forget to study and use this time to review.
For me, the long weekend had a positive effect on me, because I didn’t spend it with being in a sofa all day, watching tv , acting like a coach potato but what I did is I trained for our competitions and I get to learn and improve my skills in dancing.
What can I say? (Reaction about Buwan ng Wika)
-Since I am making my blog posts late, I don’t actually remember what happened the day when Lyceum celebrated Buwan ng Wika , all I can remember is that I performed that day. Me and the Lyceum Spartans Dance Troupe performed our compet piece for SayawikAds. Our routine’s concept was about Filipino youth empowerment. It was really a pleasure to perform in front of my schoolmates because their you can see how they appreciate your talent and the potential our dance organization has.
Other than our performance I also remember the Lyceum Theatre Ensemble performing that day, all I can say is that it was very a one of a kind performance for the LTE, their material really had given me goose bumps. Their piece is very realistic and easy to relate to that’s why you’ll really be hooked when you watch their performance . Also that day, they held the Lakan and Lakambini, many had worn their beautiful baro’t saya. My co- dance troupe won the award for Lakan and my co-CAS family won the title for Lakambini.
As a reaction to what happened that day, it was filled with culture appreciation and it really gave awareness to how great the Filipino’s and the Philippines is.
Part One of my MMA life (1st half of 1st semester)
-First half of my first semester of me being an MMA student has past, and all I can say is it has been a rollercoaster ride. As a shiftee from engineering to CAS, It wasn’t that hard for me to adjust to the new environment, actually it was so easy that I easily gained new peers and skills without taking so much time, I remember the first day we had class, I expect everyone to be shy because it was their first day in Lyceum but what happened was it was like they knew each other already because everyone was very open and friendly.
The first half of this semester had its smooth and rough times, specially when we get to bond because of group projects, that was the time when we really got know each other and had laughing moments, rough times was when we got hassled by projects and different assignments, it was really hard specially for me to cope up with projects because I really don’t have a background in editing videos and stuffs unlike my classmates where they already know pro-stuffs in editing, that was the hard times for me.
Overall, my experience to this 1st half was simply awesome! I am excited to continue the second half to learn and get to know my classmates more, specially that we have three more years to go.. : )
